  • Founder & CEO

    Katy Barfield is a food waste veteran and formally the Founding CEO of SecondBite. Katy was determined to innovate with technology in 2014 after learning about the 3.2 million tonnes of food going to waste in just the commercial sector alone every year in Australia.

    With Yume, an award-winning, certified social enterprise, Katy has prevented 5 million kilograms of food from going to waste (and counting).

    Ocean swims and meditation are Katy’s go-tos for keeping her healthy and ready to take on the new challenges of the week.

  • Chief Financial Officer

    With a wealth of experience working for some of the largest companies in the world - Shell, Deloitte, BHP Billiton - Ros has a keen strategic mind and loves to find ways to push through barriers. A passionate and adaptable finance leader, with plenty of heart for impact, Ros leads the Yume team through change and complexity as we grow and evolve.

    You’ll often find Ros getting out of the city with her partner and pampered pooch, recharging in nature beside water.

  • Chief Commercial Officer

    Having worked extensively across the food industry for more than 20 years, Katherine knows that we need a new vision combined with action to change the world. Seeing problems and opportunities in colour, not black and white, is the secret to her success. Passionate about food for all, living sustainably and helping craft solutions that support a circular economy is her motivation. Katherine is Yume's Chief Commercial Officer - reimagining supply chains and plugging the leaks.

    Outside of Yume, Katherine loves to cook, entertain and surf whenever possible.

  • Head of Marketing & Innovation

    After eight years of working in the corporate world, across two different continents, Camila decided it was time to move to an organization that would bring measurable results to the world. Camila’s experience in working with world-renowned brands and launching large 360 campaigns has given her a broad understanding of what it takes to build a successful brand. Driving Yume’s marketing and innovation, Camila works tirelessly to provide more value to our buyers and suppliers.

    When she’s got a day away from her desk, you can find Camila organising community festivals.

  • Head of Product

    With a background as a digital finance technology consultant, driving forward large scale technology projects is Aimee’s bread and butter. Living in Denmark sparked her passion for sustainability, a strength she brings to Yume, working with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll out products that deliver Yume’s strategy and vision for a waste free world.

    Outside of delivering technology that brings undeniable value to our users, you’ll likely find Aimee practicing yoga or out walking with her dog.

  • Business Development Manager

    Having started her sustainability journey at KeepCup, Natasha works with Yume buyers and suppliers to understand their needs and tailor their experience with the platform to meet them. Passionate about preventing food from going to waste while delivering value back to business, Natasha ensures suppliers are supported in achieving their goals.

    Always up for a challenge, you can find Natasha around Melbourne enjoying the best bottomless-meals. Her record to date: 75 pieces of gnocchi in one sitting!

  • Finance Manager

    With over 15 years experience in financial accounting and reporting across a wide range of industries, Sarah is our finance champion, working alongside the team to provide insights, challenge thinking and assist in decision making. With her strong focus on future based financial reporting, Sarah develops forecasts and KPI’s that align with our business strategies.

    When she’s not behind the books, Sarah takes every opportunity to adventure with her family in her caravan or get behind the pottery wheel.

  • Sales Manager

    Starting her social enterprise journey at KeepCup, Monique brings her passion for business for good to the Yume team, ensuring all businesses big and small benefit from the Yume platform. With a keen eye across the food and beverage industry, Monique introduces new buyers to sustainable procurement while ensuring the Yume community of buyers are supported as they find what they need on the platform.

    The resident Kiwi at Yume, you’ll often find Monique either cheering on the All Blacks or sipping on a margarita somewhere in the sun.

  • Account Manager

    Learning about organic and sustainably sourced produce at a plant based culinary school, Eliza worked as a professional chef for 5 years before taking on more operational roles in the industry. Witnessing the amount of waste within hospitality, Eliza was driven towards Yume. Eliza works closely with Yume suppliers to maximise their results with Yume technology.

    Cooking and gardening are Eliza’s passions outside of Yume, you’ll often find her sharing food with friends and family.

  • Product Designer

    Starting her UX/UI journey at an app development agency, Linsy brings her passion for the user experience and great design to the Yume platform, creating new features and consistent interfaces that meet the needs of the user. A keen problem solver, Linsy steps inside the shoes of the user to design solutions that count!

    Outside of Yume, you’ll find Linsy lifting weights or drinking too much of Melbourne’s coffee.

  • Administrative Assistant

    June has experience managing small businesses, restaurants and quick service restaurants which gave her a first hand understanding of food waste and unsustainable practices. From working alongside suppliers to taking care of order processing and logistics, June makes sure everything on the Yume platform runs smoothly.

    June's currently pursuing a degree in sustainability and when she's not hitting the books, she's probably at the movies.

  • Data Analyst

    Muskan’s early studies in marketing opened her eyes to the world of numbers and the powerful role data has to play in every business. Understanding the value of food since childhood led Muskan to Yume, where she measures our impact and provides insights to our users.

    When not behind a spreadsheet, you’ll find Muskan exploring Melbourne’s food scene or teaching herself something new.
